The World Boxing Federation (IBA) has suspended the German Boxing Federation and three other national federations. This was the reaction of the world federation led by the Russian Umar Kremlev to the founding of the competing organization World Boxing.
The IBA has been suspended by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) since 2019, among other things, because of dubious federation management and lack of financial transparency. The U.S. Boxport Association had withdrawn from the IBA on April 26 of this year.
