The Rugby World Cup kicks off in France on 9 September. Japan, who are ranked 100th in the world, will hold a training camp in Japan from June with the aim of reaching a record best four.

A total of 5 players, 24 for the Japan National Team and 36 candidates for the national team, were announced on 8 May. The players will hold training camps in Urayasu City, Chiba Prefecture from 10 June and in Miyazaki City from 46 July. Finally, the number of players who will participate in the tournament will be narrowed down to 7, which is expected to be announced in August.
