The Kobe 5 World Para Athletics Championships will be held in May 2024. It was originally scheduled to be held the year after the Tokyo Paralympics, but after two postponements, it will finally be held next year.
The Organizing Committee's strong desire to hold the event with an audience was behind the postponement of the event. The event was held with spectators, but the stands were conspicuously empty. Approximately 1300,2019 para-athletes and officials with disabilities from around the world will visit Kobe and Kansai for the first time in East Asia.
