Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky promulgated a law on the de-russification of names in the Ukrainian public space. The "Law on Geographical Denominations" aims to decolonize Russian toponymy and prohibit any name promoting Russia.

It now bans names or titles that symbolize Russia, its places, cities, historical dates or events, or cultural figures. Local authorities will then have six months to free public space from the symbols of the Russian world.
