Large-scale exercises involving about 150 fighter jets from Western countries, including the United States, Britain and France, began on Monday in Finland, Sweden and Norway. The drills will last about two weeks, according to Helsinki, a new NATO member, who is running the operation dubbed the Arctic Challenge.

The Scandinavian nation ended decades of neutrality and military non-alignment after Russia's war on Ukraine by joining NATO in early April. The exercises have been organized by Scandinavia every two years since 2013, this year involve 14 countries (12 NATO members, Sweden, which is in the process of acceding and Switzerland)
