The White House National Security Council's strategic communications coordinator, John Kirby, confirmed that a small number of U.S. Special Forces are present in Ukraine.
Kirby noted that he would not name the number of US troops. Earlier it was reported that most of the special forces fighters from NATO member countries in Ukraine in February-March of this year were British. It was also noted that there were fighters from France and the United States on Ukrainian territory. The United States Embassy in Ukraine has a small military presence to ensure control over materials entering and out of Ukraine.
