[HIGHLIGHTS] War in Ukraine: Can the "smokescreen" of South African neutrality hold?

The South African position in the war in Ukraine is increasingly agitating Western chancelleries. The presence of a mysterious Russian ship in a military port near Cape Town in December 2022, culminating five months later with the visit of a South African military delegation to Moscow.

The United States claims to have proof that the cargo ship was used to transport military equipment for the Russian army. The reasons for the Lady R's passage through Simon's Town harbour have never been fully clarified.
