The Dow Jones index gained 0.07%, the tech-dominated Nasdaq climbed 1.12% and the broader S&P 500 index advanced 0.40%. The day before Wall Street had concluded in the red, while Fed economists revived fears of a recession.

The U.S. Labor Department released the PPI producer price index for March, which showed wholesale prices fell 0.5 percent on the month. This is their largest decline in three years, mainly due to a decline in energy prices.
