The Dow Jones index fell 0.17% to 33,618.69 points, the tech-dominated Nasdaq nibbled 0.18% to 12,256.92 points and the broader S&P 500 index remained stable at 4,138.12 points (+0.05%). The start of the week was slowed by the closure of the London square because of the celebrations related to the coronation of Charles III, coupled with a sleepy Parisian market because of a public holiday.

The consumer price index is expected on Wednesday and could have accelerated in April to +0.4%.
