April closes with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees, rainfall records indicate that it is the driest month for three decades. The drought is deepening.

It already has irreversible consequences in the countryside, with losses of rainfed crops, and anticipates a summer with supply problems in some areas of Spain. Others, where water generates tensions, have accelerated their plans to avoid having to turn off the tap to citizens. In Catalonia and part of Andalusia, they already live in that scenario: neither irrigation of green areas with drinking water nor washing or swimming pools.
