The US Supreme Court decided on Friday, April 21 to temporarily maintain access to an abortion pill used for more than half of abortions in the country. The federal government had petitioned the high court to suspend restrictions on the abortion pill decided by lower courts.
This is the most important decision of the Supreme Court on the issue of abortion since it annulled the constitutional guarantee to abortion in June 2022. The Supreme Court's decision means, among other things, that American women can continue to receive mifepristone by mail.
