A man was arrested by British police on Tuesday, May 2, near Buckingham Palace after throwing objects that would look like rifle cartridges. The arrest, which took place around 19 p.m., comes days before the coronation of King Charles III.

Specialists went to the scene and, after an assessment, a controlled explosion was carried out as a precaution. No shots were reported, and no officers or members of the public were injured, police said in a statement. More information to follow.
