The Japanese government agency for international cooperation JICA will purchase equipment for transformer substations for Ukraine in the amount of about $40 million. This was stated by the national energy company Ukrenergo.

Earlier, the heads of the ministries of finance of Japan and the United States, Shunichi Suzuki and Janet Yellen, on the sidelines of the G7 meeting in Niigata, discussed macroeconomics and sanctions against Russia. On January 17, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reported that Ukraine plans to purchase power equipment worth more than €100 million.
