[HIGHLIGHTS] Ukraine announces that Bakhmout is under control and Russia is warning. US general: Abrams tanks will make a difference in the war

Ukraine said Russian forces had made some progress in the city of Bakhmout but the situation was under control. Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, said that the decision of the United States to send Abrams tanks will make a difference in the ongoing war with Russia.

U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said allies were committed to supporting Ukraine no matter how long it took and rejected what he called Russian President Vladimir Putin's efforts to create zones of influence by force of arms.
