Switzerland is the main supplier of ammunition for the German Gepard anti-aircraft tanks sent to the front a year ago. Bern has denied other European countries the right to supply Ukraine with arms and ammunition produced on Swiss soil.
The confederation is hiding behind its famous neutrality to justify its inflexibility since the beginning of the great Russian offensive in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. "We cannot be forced to violate our own laws," Swiss president Alain Berset said during his visit to Germany.
