Chinese police have established bases in more than 100 countries to monitor dissidents. The British government has revealed that all four bases have been closed.

The Chinese government denies the existence of the bases, saying it "respects the judiciary and sovereignty of each country" The bases are seen as a threat to those who left China in search of safety and freedom, the Chinese government says. The U.S. and other countries are investigating and responding to China's police bases in the U.K., France and Germany.
