Nearly a million and a half Turkish voters have cast their ballots in the general and presidential elections scheduled for May 14. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and opposition candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu will compete for the presidency.

The elections coincide with the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic. The election will determine Turkey's face during the next hundred years, according to the Turkish High Election Authority. The number of those eligible to vote in the presidential and parliamentary elections is more than 64 million, the authority says.
