Turkey's automotive industry recorded the highest monthly export figure in March at $3.3 billion. The data showed that total exports exceeded $8 billion and 619 million in the first quarter of this year, an increase of about 16% year-on-year.
Turkey launched earlier this month the first electric car produced in the country, called "TOGG", and 20,<> cars will be manufactured from the company during the current year, to meet local demand. The president of the Automobile Exporters Association said last month's record reinforced his plan to meet an annual export target of $34 billion.
