Singer Tina Turner, who died at the age of 83, had become the queen of rock during her long career. She was known for her performances in front of packed stadiums, which screamed in chorus the choruses of (Simply) "The best" Tina Turner was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the American rock pantheon, in 2011.

She died in Switzerland, where she had lived for years, after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, two sons and a daughter.
