Thousands of Senegalese gathered Friday in Dakar to protest against the possibility of a third term for President Macky Sall. They also support the opponent Ousmane Sonko, targeted by justice in the run-up to the presidential election of February 2024.

The demonstration was called by the "Movement of Living Forces of Senegal F24", a collective of more than 170 political and rights organizations. Some speakers were booed by the crowd because they were suspected of not supporting Sonko clearly enough or not in favour of him.
