Charles III promised in his day a "reduced" Coronation and sober, in keeping with the times of crisis and as a reflection of the modernization of the monarchy. The celebration of May 6 will however be the largest display of uniforms since Churchill's funeral in 1965, twice as spectacular as the one that accompanied Elizabeth II in her farewell.

More than 7,000 soldiers will parade in their best clothes, including representatives of more than 30 countries of the Commonwealth of Nations, who will wrap Charles and Camilla between Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey.
