A 22-year-old man is sentenced to life in prison for driving his mother to death and seriously injuring her new boyfriend. His little brother, who was also in the car, is acquitted.
Prosecutor Hediye Kurt said that the brothers carried out the act jointly, but the Gothenburg District Court disagrees. The deceased woman had started a relationship with a new man, while still being married in Roma fashion to the brothers' father. But the district court does not consider this to be an aggravating circumstance with regard to the murder.
