Two prisoners have been freed in the space of just under a month. Both were in connection with transport to health care facilities.

Security risks have been known for a long time and pointed out to the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. The problems for the national transport unit have been exacerbated by the lack of space and staff that the Prison and Probation Service is facing. The overcrowding of prisons and detention centers and staff shortages make these risks greater, says Marcus Carlström, chairman of Seko.
