Swedish Transport Agency has supervisory responsibility for vehicle inspections. In recent years no employee has worked solely with supervision of the inspection.
In 2022, just over 6.1 million inspections were carried out for all types of vehicles. In an audit in 2021, the Swedish National Audit Office concluded that the Swedish Transport Agency's supervision has been almost non-existent since 2010. In the future, four and a half year-olds will focus on vehicle inspections, says Mats Nygren, investigator.
