The Sudanese army is considered one of the strongest armies of the Horn of Africa. The Sudanese Air Force has 191 aircraft, including 45 fighters, 37 attack aircraft and 25 cargo aircraft.

The Rapid Support Forces consists of about 100,000 members. The army relies on the state budget to finance it, while the RSF has entered the gold mining field to finance its own activities. The RSF also has about seven thousand military vehicles and 379 guns, and these heavy weapons are also in the interest of the army.
