Dai Bing, China's deputy permanent representative to the U.N., spoke at an open meeting on the Central African issue held by the UN Security Council on 5 June. He stressed that a purely military response could not address the root causes of insecurity in Central Africa.

The international community should respect the sovereignty and dominance of the countries concerned and provide positive energy for maintaining regional political stability, he said. China is willing to work with the international community to increase its attention and investment in the region and provide more constructive support.
