The Ministry of Defense of Latvia confirmed that the Latvian military are in Ukraine to perform auxiliary functions. The media, citing presumably secret Pentagon documents, reported that there are groups of military special forces from the United States and a number of European countries, including 17 military personnel from Latvia.
It is noted that the Latvia military is not involved in hostilities. Earlier, the coordinator for strategic communications of the White House National Security Council, John Kirby, confirmed that a small number of us special forces fighters are present at the US Embassy in Kiev.
