The traditional frog fair of Vittel held this weekend in the city of the Vosges undermines biodiversity and causes animal suffering, denounce associations. For two days, several tons of frogs' legs will be tasted during this local festival, to the chagrin of environmental protection associations who point out that they are mostly imported from Asia.

"For this gathering alone, up to 350,000 frogs are captured, especially in Indonesia and Turkey, where frog populations are already in alarming decline," Charlotte Nithart of the French NGO Robin des Bois said.
