[HIGHLIGHTS] The Foreign Ministry promised a response to possible new steps to reduce the Russian diplomatic mission in Germany

If Germany takes new unfriendly steps to reduce Russia's diplomatic presence, the response will be sensitive for Berlin, says Russian Foreign Ministry. At the beginning of June, the restrictions imposed by the Russian side on the maximum number of employees of German representative offices in Russia come into force.

These measures will affect not only the staff of the embassy and consulates general, but also employees ofGerman cultural organizations, says Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova. She noted that the German government has independently chosen a course towards the destruction of bilateral relations.
