[HIGHLIGHTS] The expert on why so few moose swim: "Spring is late – 1800s level"

Few moose have swum across the Ångermanälven river at Kullberg. The explanation is that it has been cold with a lot of ice along the river.

"It's a big ice edge that they shy away from," says Göran Ericsson, professor at the Department of Wildlife at SLU in Umeå. Both north and south of filming locations, the river is dry and the moose choose to walk over dryshod instead of swimming in the cold water.
