The European Commission banned grain exports from Ukraine to five Eastern European countries from May 2 to June 5. The measures will come into force on May 2 and will be valid until June 5, 2023.

During this period, wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower from Ukraine can be freely sold in all EU countries, except Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia. Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko said that Ukraine had sent notes of protest to Poland and the European Union over blocking imports of agricultural products.
