[HIGHLIGHTS] The EU has provided more than 3200 million euros in additional humanitarian assistance to the Democratic Republic of the Congo

The EU announced on the 26th that it will provide more than 26 million euros in additional aid to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. More than 25% of the DRC's population – about 2700 million people – is currently severely food insecure, and an estimated 280 million children are acutely malnourished.

The EU, in cooperation with member states such as France, has opened a humanitarian "air corridor" to the eastern DRC. So far, 7 tons of aid have been delivered to the east DRC through seven flights.
