In April, a row house at Berghem in Umeå was hit by a heavy fire. Now the emergency services are issuing a call to all terraced house owners to review safety.
In 2016, 514 row houses were checked, which meant 2584 individual homes had deficiencies. About 90 percent of them had deficiencies in the attic construction. In townhouses it is very important that the attic is properly separated. If it is not, the fire can quickly spread and can potentially completely destroy an entire row of houses.
