New satellite images have revealed that extensive work has taken place on the Coco Islands, a small archipelago of 24 km² that depends on Burma. The visible extension of an airstrip and the construction of several hangars seem to suggest that Grande Coco Island could accommodate a small airport.

In addition, what looks like a radar station was also built in the south of the island. Enough to give the impression that this small territory of about twenty km² could become the big ears of Beijing in the Indian Ocean.
