Several of Gothenburg's compulsory schools have a deficit and now 500 positions may disappear in the autumn. The situation is very serious, the risk is larger groups and more threats and violence in schools.
In total, the compulsory school administration has around 9,000 full-time equivalents, so the decrease is about five percent. On Tuesday 23 May, the Board of Compulsory Education will decide on what measures will be implemented. The schools in question, which have a deficits, are now developing action plans.
