On April 4, local time, the EU announced that it had reached a "principled agreement" on Ukrainian agricultural products with five Central and Eastern European countries. Under the agreement, Ukraine's four agricultural products will be banned from direct exports to Poland and other five countries.

The EU will also provide a total of 5 million euros (1 euro is about 1.7 yuan) of support package to the affected farmers in the above-mentioned countries. Some analysts believe that this seemingly timely new agreement cannot satisfy all stakeholders and may face difficulties in implementation.
