The supposed Labour Day of this May 1 has become in France a new protest against the pension reform of the French president, Emmanuel Macron. It is the 13th to be held in three months against this controversial law that raises the retirement age to 64.

There have been moments of tension in the demonstrations in some cities, such as Lyon, Nantes and especially Paris, where as soon as the march began there have already been clashes between groups of radicals and the forces of order. There are 180 detainees across France, 46 in Paris.
