Swiss Islamologist Tariq Ramadan was acquitted for the first time for rape. Geneva Criminal Court ruled on Wednesday 24 May that there was no evidence.
The 60-year-old Swiss intellectual specializing in Islam remains in the eye of justice. He is also threatened with a trial in France for similar facts. In July 2022, the Paris prosecutor's office requested the referral of the Swiss Islamologist to an assize court. It is now up to the investigating judges to order a trial or not.
