A source in the Sudanese army told Al Jazeera that clashes are taking place near the vicinity of the army's Yarmouk weapons factory south of Khartoum. Al-Jazeera correspondent reported the intensification of clashes in the Jabra area and near the Abu Adam neighborhood.
The clashes coincided with warplanes flying south of the capital. The two sides exchange accusations of starting the fighting first and committing violations that included a series of truces that did not succeed in ending the ongoing clashes.
