Renewed clashes in Khartoum as clashes between army and Rapid Support Forces enter second month. El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur state, witnessed clashes between the Rapid Support and gunmen, resulting in about 200 deaths in two days.

Both sides accused each other of violating the Jeddah Agreement aimed at protecting civilians. This comes at a time when Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, head of the Sovereignty Council and army commander, continued to dismiss many officials.
