State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin commented on the situation in Western countries due to anti-Russian sanctions. According to him, the economy "is starting to crack," and inflation is off the charts.

"During this time, a number of governments have already resigned," he said. Earlier, the newspaper Politico, citing an official source, reported that the team of the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, began working on sanctions against Russia back in November 2021.
