British opposition parties have called on Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to open an investigation into Home Secretary Suela Braverman's attempt to obtain preferential treatment to settle a traffic violation.Braverman is suspected of asking officials to set up an individual driving awareness course rather than penalty points. This led to opposition allegations that she may have violated the ministerial code of conduct by asking non-political government officials to help deal with a private matter.

For her part, the Minister of Interior denied on Monday misconduct in dealing with the speeding violation.
