Armed forces took over SOS Children's Villages' premises in Khartoum. The aid organization has since evacuated children to a safe place in the south of the capital.

99 people, including 68 children, 11 carers and eight local employees, were allowed to leave the area. Even before the fighting broke out, 8.5 million children were in need of humanitarian assistance, according to UNICEF. The hope is to be able to evacuate children and foster families to safer places in the countryside.
