Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger said on Sunday that he had tendered the resignation of his interim government to President Zuzana Caputova. The political crisis in Slovakia, a country of 5.4 million people and a member of the EU and NATO, has deepened this week.

On Thursday, Agriculture Minister Samuel Vlcan announced his resignation after a case involving a €1.4m subsidy to his company came to light. The next day, Foreign Minister Rastislav Kacer also indicated his intention to leave the government.
