Three Israeli soldiers and an Egyptian were reportedly killed in two separate shootings near the Egyptian borders. The soldiers killed were reportedly shot dead on the Israeli-Egyptian border in what was described as a "security incident" According to Arab media, the man was dressed as an Egyptian border guard.
Egypt and Israel are now working together in a joint investigation into the incident, two Egyptian security sources told Reuters news agency. The incidents occurred between the mountains of Sagi and Harif in the Negev desert in southern Israel.
