Seven villages in Gällivare and Boden municipality are protesting against Vattenfall's planned wind farm. "To do something in northern Sweden because you need energy in the south is absurd," says entrepreneur Helena Dådring.

More than 170 people from Sami communities and the surrounding area have signed the protest. The wind farm is estimated to have an annual production of about 9TWh and could be in operation before 2030 if it is allowed to be built. The villages protesting together are Storsaivis, Lillsaivi, Suobbat, Vuoddas and Solberget.
