Vučić was elected president of the Serbian Kadima Party in 2012. He was first elected President of Serbia in 2017 and was re-elected for a five-year term in 2022.
In early May, two shootings occurred in Serbia, killing 5 people, including children, and injuring dozens more. After the shooting, protests were held in Serbia to condemn the violence and demand changes and a reshuffle of the cabinet. He also announced that a new political movement, including the Serbian Forward Party, will be formed at the end of June this year.
