Tens of thousands of Serbs took to the streets in Belgrade on Monday to pay tribute to the victims of two shootings that plunged the country into mourning last week. The two shootings, which occurred on Wednesday 3 and Thursday 4 May, left 19 dead, including in a kindergarten.
Serbia has sunk for about ten years into an alternative media reality dominated by "systematic hate speech against any political opposition to power and the highlighting of violent content," says Nebojsa Vladisavljevic.
