Nearly 2,000 people, including many left-wing elected officials wearing their tricolor scarves, marched Wednesday afternoon in Saint-Brevin-les-Pins. The march was in support of the resigning mayor of this commune, who has become the symbol of violence against elected officials.

"We realized that the aggression of elected officials was truly a national issue. I decided to go all the way, I really said everything," said Yannick Morez, the mayor.
