Russia expects that the UN will take the necessary steps against the United States in connection with the non-issuance of visas to journalists from the pool of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. The Russian Permanent Mission stressed that all relevant formalities and deadlines, including the availability of UN accreditation, were observed by representatives of the Russian media when applying for visas.
Earlier, the office of the official representative of the UN Secretary General refused to comment on the US decision not to issue visas to Russian journalists who were supposed to accompany Lavrov.
